Jewish Film Festival Returns To Galaxy Cinema

The 2007 Triangle Jewish Film Festival (TJFF) will take place at the Galaxy Cinema in Cary on Sunday, June 10. The full-day Festival is jointly produced by the Raleigh-Cary and Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish Federations and will present multiple screenings of six documentary and feature films. Academy award winner Freida Mock's documentary Wrestling with Angels: Playwright Tony Kushner, the highly acclaimed The Ritchie Boys and Little Heroes, an Israeli children's film, will be among the films shown. A kosher deli, local art and music and other cultural offerings will also be available for film audiences to enjoy.

Sydney Miller, chair of the 2007 Festival, states "The Festival engages the Triangle with some of the best recently produced Jewish Films and immerses audiences in a profound and personal experience. A committed volunteer steering committee has worked on the Festival since it first began in 1999 as the NC Jewish Film Festival."

George Holt, director of North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) performing arts and film programs says "The NCMA is delighted to have partnered with the Triangle Jewish Film Festival in its 2007 Festival kick-off with the award winning documentary Toots and a tour of the NCMA's newly renovated Judaic Art Gallery. For many years the organizers of the Festival have done a superb job of programming vital work that may not have otherwise been available to Triangle audiences. As a marketing partner of Galaxy Cinema and TJFF, our organization shares the same goals of expanding our community's access to great film making."

The Triangle Jewish Film Festival provides enriching cultural experiences for audiences throughout the Triangle and offers award-winning films and opportunities to explore various dimensions of Jewish life. Individual tickets are $8 and day passes are $25 and there is ample free parking throughout the day available at Galaxy Cinema.
